Comfort In Books

Yesterday my feelings and confidence were hurt really bad by someone I care a lot about.

Their intention was never to make me feel bad but sometimes immaturity hides proper ways to correspond with others. Then again, I am also a teenager so everything in my life can seem rather dumb.

Anyways, on this Thanksgiving I am thankful for having this blog (even if I haven’t posted in months) and I am thankful for books and the loving community they provide.

I am so close to reaching my 2016 reading goal of 52 books! I am currently at 51!

I have been reading a lot of contemporary lately. Something about the quick love and (usually) happy endings just puts a smile on my face.

I hope all the Americans have a great Thanksgiving and that everyone else has a great day in general.

When times get tough, grab a book.

Pokemon Go!

As many (or all) of you have probably noticed, Pokemon Go was released two days ago! I had a great time yesterday walking around my town to catch Pokemon. Some people are nervous about the hazards this app may cause if people do not glance up from their phones and check their surroundings. I agree with this, however I love seeing young kids and grown men walking around playing this game. This app is supposed to get you up and moving and along the way you get to see animated pokemon as if they were right in front of you. I love it!
I just think this is one of the most clever things ever made. And, it caters to people’s nostalgia.
GO out there and get your pokemon! (and join team Instinct)

Burn, Rewrite, Reread

Which book will be cherished and which will be banished? This is honestly the most excited I have been for a game of sorts in a long time. Thank you so so so much Johnathan  for tagging me to do this! All you have to do is open your Goodreads read bookshelf and have it randomly sorted. Take 3 books at a time and choose one to burn, one to rewrite, and one to reread! Uh, Yes please!

Half-Way Point!// Wrap Up!

The end of June marks 6 months of the year completed! At the beginning of the year I set my reading goal to 50 books. Recently, I increased it to 56 as I thought that was my likely finish number. Currently I have read 31 books! I am very excited because it feels good to have a goal and since I am on track it feels even better. (I know a lot of you read up to or over twice as much as me, but I still feel good!)

Trying to read an intimidating book…

A couple weeks ago I was reading about Under The Dome by Stephen King and was like hey I want to read that! So, I hopped on my computer and bought a copy (no bookstores)….the book arrived larger than what I am used to. Sure I could have looked it up online to see how big the book would be, but the thought never occurred to me. This book is over 1000 pages long. It is pretty much the size of my head and I am scared. How am I supposed to start this book?!?! I really hope I love it because the premise is so cool, but looking at it gives me a pit in my stomach!
