Burn, Rewrite, Reread

Which book will be cherished and which will be banished? This is honestly the most excited I have been for a game of sorts in a long time. Thank you so so so much Johnathan  for tagging me to do this! All you have to do is open your Goodreads read bookshelf and have it randomly sorted. Take 3 books at a time and choose one to burn, one to rewrite, and one to reread! Uh, Yes please!

Round 1

Burn1.jpg

Burn: The Boyfriend App by Katie Sise
There wasn’t anything… terrible about this book. It was just a rather shallow, light read that does not hold a candle to these other two books!
Rewrite: Firelight by Sophie Jordan
This entire series I loved. Humans who are also dragons. But, it definitely wasn’t perfect and had some less gratifying moments. (Overall super cool concept and would recommend sampling and fully reading this series!)
Reread: The Siren by Kiera Cass
The other two books did not even stand a chance once I saw The Siren was in my first triplet. I loved this book more than the Selection series. I will be rereading it sometime in the next year. I am sorry. It’s just a dead winner.

Burn: Looking for Alaska by John Green
Unlike others…I really did not appreciate this book. Sure, I liked it. I just loved other John Green books so much more. Maybe I didn’t relate as much to the character. I found myself hurt at the end and the whole plot line just was not for me, sadly.
Rewrite: Court of Fives by Kate Elliot
This book had the potential to be great (and many parts were great). However, the way the author chose to carry out the romance and decision makings fell flat on me. A definite rewrite in that area!
Reread: The Cellar by Natasha Preston
The Cellar was the first book I read that featured abduction/kidnapping/rape. I have read a lot of hate reviews on this book, but I thought it was heart wrenching and a wonderful story.

Burn:Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas
I like Throne of Glass, but I wasn’t wowed by it. To me there was nothing extremely unique about it compared to other Fantasy reads, so I would have to burn it 😦
Rewrite: I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson
Loved I’ll Give You The Sun. I am not sure exactly what I would change, but I know when I read it there were some slow parts to me and things I wish would have been added. (I really need to reread this book though!)
Reread: Bloody Jack by L.A. Meyer
The Bloody Jack series is one of my favorite series of all time. I love love love it. I love the concepts I love the characters. Reread for sure.

I am only doing 3 rounds, but I think this game is amazing! Anyone who sees this post and is at all interested in doing it themselves. Please, oh please. Not only is it immensely fun for the blogger, but also I love seeing how other people view my favorite books when pitted against their favorites!

I personally loved Looking for Alaska. I can see where people might not like it as much, so I have nothing against that view! And I agree with Throne of Glass: I definitely enjoyed it and I will be reading the rest of the series. I just wasn’t OH MY GOSH about it 🙂

I think I need to reread Looking For Alaska as I don’t know if I was just in the wrong mindset. I am hyped to read more and more of the Throne of Glass series, but it is a lot of books all with a decent page count and I don’t want the concepts to burn out on me!

Everyone seems to love Looking For Alaska so I’m glad to know that I’m not alone when I say it isn’t my favourite! There was just something about it that I didn’t get along with. Great post by the way! 🙂
